Transformers 2:Rise of the Fallen

Just saw this movie last night in the IMax theater at Chinook Mall in Calgary and I have to say that it wasn't very good. There was just way too much action, and yes there can be too much action in a movie. Watching this in Imax probably didn't help because half the time I couldn't tell what was going on even though I was moving my head left and right to see all the action. The storyline was pretty lame too and the whole movie could have taken place in the last hour of the movie and made the same amount of sense. The twin bots weren't that funny, however John Turturro(Agent Simmons) brought the most comedy to the movie and I did laugh a few times.

The movie is 150 minutes long (2 1/2 hours) which I thought was extremely long comparing to the first one which was only 6 minutes shorter but went by much quicker.

Overall movie was more action than story and I'd have to say the only good part about seeing it on the big screen was the details and sheer size of Megan Fox :o

"2012" The End of The World?

This movie looks insanely good, from the maker of Independence Day. Too bad Will Smith isn't in this, but I think John Cusack will do a fine job. Amazing special effects and CGI = good movie.

On another note does anybody believe in all the oracles that say the world will come to end on such and such date?

Driven 2009 Photos

Well as mentioned earlier Driven 2009 has come, and gone. Another great year of cars and models and good times to be had by all.
Didn't get a whole lot of pictures of all the cars around the place as the main focus was on the beyond.ca booth which one the Best Team Represent trophy!

Also I had the pleasure of shooting the beautiful Mercedes Terrell :D

The pics should tell the rest of the story, enjoy!

Penguins Claim Victory

I know this is old news but I had a busy weekend and unfortunately I didn't get to see the game so I had no inspiration to post this up.
As the title of this post states, the Pittsburgh Penguins took home this years Stanley Cup with a 2-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings.
According to a link on nhl.com game 7 was the most-watched NHL game in 36 years. I'm sure alot of people's money was riding on this game hence the large number or viewers.

This is recent news although a little old...375000 people showed up for the victory parade. Wow!

2009 Stanley Cup Final

If you're Canadian you should be all over this like butter on bread. The 2009 Stanley Cup final between Detroit(home) and Pittsburgh(away) game 7 goes down tonight at 8pm EST. Most people I have talked to have said that the Red Wings are going to clean house like last year and that this game is pretty much a done deal, but as the famous saying goes, It's not over until the fat lady sings comes to mind.

The Penguins have put up a good fight this series and aren't giving up just yet but all odds are stacked against them. I'm all for Detroit winning and I'm positive they will take the cup home again this year, but if I knew for sure I would be rich, and I'm not.

Here's a link showing a bunch of stats regarding game 7, some actually quite interesting!

2009 Stanley Cup Stats

Have fun watching the game and remember don't drink and drive!

Kanye West + Lady GaGa Tour

A weird co-op of artists but this is a pure money making tour. Take 1 part Kanye West, one of the worlds biggest stars, and add 1 Part Lady GaGa another world-wide pop star and you get an explosive number of fans out there spending outrageous amounts of money on pre-sale tickets as well as re-sale tickets.

Now some of you may be thinking that Lady GaGa will be opening up for Kanye or vise-versa but according to Kanye it's a collaboration tour. Suprising yes but at the same time why not? Both artists are larger than life right now and to get together and tour just makes it all the better.

No further details yet but expect more info down the wire in the near future.

Apple to take over world in 2012!

Not quite as the title states but they seem to hit it off with every update and technological release.
If you don't already know Apple released some news yesterday at the WSDC in San Fransisco. I won't go into details since you can see everything new at www.apple.ca.

In all honesty Apple products aren't that great but what makes their products sell is the simplicity to everything from the design to usage. I myself never thought I would buy any apple product aside from the IPod but last year I took the leap and bought a Macbook Pro and so far I'm loving it.

When comparing the IPhone to other smart phones on the market, the IPhone kills in looks. Everyone has a personal preference but having sales of something like 37 million for the IPhone and IPod Touch speaks for itself. So join the bandwagon and buy some Apple stuff because the more followers they have the better technology we will get in the future, both from Apple and competitors.

Here's a few pictures of concept IPhones. Some of these look really sleek and would love to see Apple release a newly designed IPhone in the coming future.

Finally Summer?

With the official first day of summer just around the corner (June 21st), the weather here in Calgary still seems to be winterish. Having had 2 straight nights of frost warnings puts more of a chill into me then sipping on a slurpee in the heat.

With that said, we have had a couple nice days in the week prior and later on I think we are going to see some record setting temperatures this summer.

Here's a couple of shoots that have been done in the past couple weeks of friends cars. Expect more as the air warms up and the sun doesn't fade until late!

Throwback to DTP(Driven To Perform) Car Show

This year a few things have changed with the DTP show, first is the name change. In previous years the show was called DTP(Driven to Perform), this has now changed to Driven.
The local venue here in Calgary has changed from the Olympic Oval to a much larger place, The Big Four building at the Stampede grounds.

More info at http://www.drivenshow.ca
Be sure to stop by this year on Sat. June 13th, you will not be dissappointed!

Now onto some pictures from Calgary's 2008 show at the Olympic Oval at the University.
